How to start an online business in 2019
Hello, today I want to share with you the three things that How to start an online business in 2019 , specially for house wives / womens. Because I think this is something that is so many Women’s just get terribly, terribly wrong and I don’t want that to be you.
Solving The Issues
The first thing is to really know exactly what problem you’re solving and who you’re solving it for and this is true whether you have a product-based business or service-based business because it’s – if you haven’t read my earlier articles about the four stages of clarity, it ties into that – but here’s the thing: say that you want to help people have a better life.
It’s not clear enough to really target the people who are going to pay you money. So, for instance, I think that I help people have a better life, but that’s certainly not what I’m expressing to everybody.
I say that I want to help women take the leap into entrepreneurship because I know that you have been taking in all of these free resources, listening to all the podcasts, doing webinars, you know maybe you’ve invested a few thousand in a couple of different business courses, but it just hasn’t been working for you. And truthfully, you don’t have the time to sort through all of that free information, that might be conflicting one with the other, and deal with the mis-steps that might come because you need to get this started now.
Hire a Coach
You’re a busy person and you just don’t want to wait. So, you’re going to hire a coach that can help you get really clear and take action, get your business out there, so you can start making money. So, you see how that has a huge, huge difference in terms of problem and solution versus just helping people live a better life.
1. Clarity & 2. knowing the language of your potential clients.
So, you may know that in order to solve their problem, you have created this amazing piece of haberdashery that’s a perfect silk blend cut on a bias, but what they’re really looking for is that perfect little black dress that’s going to make everyone do a double take.
Now, the problem is that a lot of us, especially with this corporate background, tend to have this corporate speak when we put ourselves out there online. And that’s really just not going to cut it. And so, you luckily don’t have to come up with the perfect marketing slogans, you don’t have to create or invent from your head, you just have to talk to clients and figure out the exact words that they’re using because they’re speaking it everyday when they’re talking about this problem.
So you need to be there and you need to capture all of it, word for word, and never try to paraphrase what you think they mean.Just say what they mean.
3. Prove that you can do it to start an online business
So, this might sound easy, but a lot of people go out there with a great offer and just not enough proof. Not enough proof to actually capture that sale. So, that can be in the form of a story, maybe how you’ve helped overcome it.
It could be testimonials. Go out there and do free, or even paid work, and gather these testimonials to then sell to a broader audience. You could be helping people in real time, you know, get in places where people are talking about these problems and start offering them road maps for a solution, so that they can sort of see the bigger picture about how to do it.
Get really technical with just a few tips that will show them that you know exactly what you’re talking about. And then another form is just to actually show it. This is really great if you are, for instance, a designer or you have a client that’s a filmmaker, and basically, you just put it out there and it doesn’t even really matter if you have a testimonial, because people can see what you’re capable of and it’s very visual and they know right away – yes! That’s the look I want on my website.
So notice – I think it’s really important to notice what I didn’t say in terms of these three things – remember I mentioned getting really clear on the problem, knowing your clients’ language, and then proving that you can do it – but I did not mention a website. I didn’t mention amassing a ton of followers, I didn’t talk about the perfect instagram, and that’s because you don’t neccesarily need those things.
I have a client right now, I just now had filmmaker on the brain, and she was just doing the market research phase of her business, which is basically where she was validating her idea and she was going out there and trying to capture that language from real people and just in the way she was able to ask the questions and the way she was able to offer value in her real time, people have already said “YES – That is a problem I want solved and I want you to be the one to solve it.”
So there you go, you don’t need a website, you just need to get out there and be very clear and have a great offer, spoken in your clients’ language, so that they can say yeah. Yes, this is what I want.
